Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony - January 29thJanuary 29th 2010
BONNECHERE MANOR FOUNDATION HOLDS A RIBBON-CUTTING CEREMONY TO SEE IN THE 2010 YEAR WITH NEW CAMPAIGN BILLBOARDS Renfrew, ON: The Bonnechere Manor Foundation launches their kick-off to the start of the 2010-year for the Bonnechere Manor Centre - Auditorium Campaign with new billboards. On one of the coldest days of the New Year, county and municipal officials met with the Foundation to help cut the ribbon to their newly displayed billboards. Located at both the front and back of the property, the billboards display the Auditorium Campaign’s goals and successes. In addition, and as part of their donor recognition program, the billboards also list their corporate sponsors.
The double 12’ x 8’ sponsor billboard can be viewed from highway 60 and includes a campaign ‘thermometer’ outlining the campaign goals and the amount of funds raised to date. In total, the estimated cost of the project is $1 million, with provincial grants funnelled through the County of Renfrew at $300,000 and the City of Pembroke at $125,000. In order to break ground, the Foundation is required to raise $350,000 of which it already has $104,000.
Community Relations Coordinator, Robyn Arseneau explains, “there is a big push to raise the remaining $250,000 needed to break ground this year.” Chair of the Auditorium Campaign Committee, Brian Yuke adds “this is the first time the Foundation has gone out into the community asking for support… for, the sooner we’re able to raise the funds to build the Auditorium, the sooner it will make a difference in the lives of our residents and communities.”
Included on the billboard is contact information and space advertising coming events. Among the major fundraising events planned for this year included the very successful event RENFREWLICIOUS held on January 30th and a first-ever Telethon for the Foundation on March 7th, 2010. A list of further events and fundraisers is included on the Foundation’s website: www.BonnechereManorFoundation.com
In attendance at the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony held on January 29th, 2010 were: County of Renfrew officials: Norm Lemke, CAO and Warden, Donald Rathwell; Municipal officials: Karen McDonald from the office of Cheryl Gallant MP and a certificate of best wishes from the office of John Yakabuski MPP; Foundation Chairs: Dr. Bill Burwell and Brian Yuke; Foundation Directors: Eleanor Donaldson, Donita Konyk, Sheila Kemp and Lynne Dunn; Bonnechere Manor Staff: Director of Care, Violet Rossy and Community Relations Coordinator, Robyn Arseneau.
The Bonnechere Manor Foundation would like to thank TF Custom Signs for their sign expertise, support and generous donation of the sign. In addition, Lee Kirkwood and the maintenance staff of Bonnechere Manor are thanked for the construction and erection of the billboard and sign – we couldn’t have done it without you! |
