About the Bonnechere Manor

Opening its doors in 1958, Bonnechere Manor is the County of Renfrew's oldest and largest Long Term Care Home. Since its inception, the Manor has provided a 'home-away-from-home' for 3,223 members of our community from the County of Renfrew and Quebec. Currently and at its capacity, the Manor is home to 180 residents who have an age range of 43 to 101. Length of stay varies greatly, however there is always a waiting list of those wishing to join our home.

In addition to our residents, the Manor is also associated with a client outreach program. The Day Program brings in clients from across the county; namely in the Renfrew, Calabofie, Cobden, Eganville and Beachburg areas. Since 1995, over 500 clients have visted and participated in programs at the Manor.

Bonnechere Manor employees 225 staff from surrounding townships, and is one of the largest employers in the area. In addition, there is a large volunteer base of over 145 community members who assist in various capacities with our residents, staff and families.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is to be dedicated to the provision of quality care and services, which recognizes the right to self-determination, dignity, privacy and optimum lifestyle for all residents and clients. We believe in the maintenance of family, staff, community, and volunteer relationships with, and on behalf of, each resident and client. We strive to play a unique role in the community we serve, thereby participating in a continuum of care services.

Recent Achievements

The Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (CCHSA) has again awarded a Three Year Accreditation Award to Bonnechere Manor. This represents the highest award granted by CCHSA. The Accreditation process provides us with the opportunity to benchmark our services and assists us in continuing to make quality imporvements.

In 2008 the Ministry of Health awarded the Manor with no unmet standards and called it one of the "Model Homes for Ontario."

Last year, the Ministry of Health gave an even better report, claiming that the Manor is to be considered one of the "Top Long Term Care Homes in Ontario."
